• Nicholas King | Executive Director & Founder

    Nicholas is a Managing Director at Fort Point Capital Partners, a registered investment advisor providing wealth advisory solutions to entrepreneurs. Driven by a desire to combine his passion for music and business, he founded After Arts, a thriving community of professionals who share a passion for and background in music. Previously, Nicholas maintained an active career as a concert pianist and performed in major recital halls in seven countries, selling out both The Walt Disney Concert Hall and Carnegie's Weill Recital Hall. Nicholas had an early start in philanthropy; at the age of 10 he raised more than $35,000 for the Children's Hospital of Los Angeles and was awarded the Congressional Medal of Recognition. He also founded the Art of Giving Back, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting young musicians and giving back to the community. He serves on the Board of Governors of The Mannes School of Music, the Board of Directors of the National Opera Company and Project Music Heals Us, and Advisory Board of The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts. Nicholas also holds a BM in classical piano from The Royal Conservatory of Music; an AD from Oberlin College & Conservatory; and an MM from The Juilliard School.

  • Jennifer Xie | Director of Operations

    Jennifer was previously a Senior Consultant at Monitor Deloitte with 5+ years of working experience leading workstreams focused on data and financial analysis. She is experienced in a wide range of functional areas, including Go-To-Market Strategy, M&A, growth strategy, and corporate strategy. Jennifer is focused on the industries of technology, payments, and financial services. Jennifer hails from Toronto, and prior to her career in consulting, Jennifer graduated from Queen's University.

  • Grace Huh | Artistic Director

    Grace is a third-year at Columbia-Juilliard studying Economics and Computer Science, alongside violin performance under Professors Donald Weilerstein and Li Lin. She is pursuing a path in finance as a Girls Who Invest Scholar and an incoming Evercore M&A Summer Analyst, enriching it with her background in music as a U.S. Presidential Scholar in the Arts and a laureate of the Klein International String Competition. Passionate about mentorship and creating opportunities to make the transition from music to other careers easier, she founded Morningside Music Society, which connects a community of Columbia musicians navigating their next professional steps.

  • Lydia Rhea | Social Media Manager

    Cellist Lydia Rhea received her Master of Music degree from The Juilliard School in May 2024 under Natasha Brofsky. She previously completed her Bachelor of Music degree at the Cleveland Institute of Music with Dr. Melissa Kraut where she received the Speilman Memorial Award for an exceptional cellist and the Kaplow Prize for Uncommon Creativity. Part of that creativity is her passion for sharing the behind-the-scenes of classical music across her social media platforms, which now extends into her role as social media manager at After Arts! As a soloist, Rhea has performed with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra and appeared on NPR’s From theTop with jazz pianist Fred Hersch, where she performed one of his original compositions in Boston’s Jordan Hall. Rhea, who has performed throughout the U.S. and Europe, has been the Operations Manager of the Online Solo Strings Intensive since 2021.   • Julian Roel | Director of Events

    Julian received both his Masters of Arts Management and Entrepreneurship degree and his Bachelors in Jazz Performance degree from the New School in May 2023. During his time there, he studied improvisation and composition under masters Justin Robinson, David Glasser, and Kirk Nurock. Julian has performed his own music extensively on the west coast, in New York clubs such as Smalls, and internationally in venues including the State Art Gallery in Tarnovo, and the Bern Jazz Fest. However, his passion for original music extends beyond performing; in 2022 he co - founded Julians NYC: a live performance space which records the original works of emerging jazz artists.
